Water pipes need to be loved too. During this month of love Cobb County Water System encourages you to consider these tips to keep your water pipes flowing free:
Properly manage fats, oil, and grease (FOG) in your kitchen – FOG, like ice cream, cheese, peanut butter, gravy, ketchup, and oil sticks to the walls of sewer pipes building up over time, restricting flow of wastewater, which causes backups. Before doing the dishes, scrape leftovers into the trash. Use a sink strainer and avoid using the garbage disposal.
Only flush bodily wastes and toilet paper – Items like pads, towelettes, cloth, and wipes should never be flushed, even if the products are marked as “flushable.” They do not break down like toilet paper and cause blockages in pipes, resulting in sewer backups.
Throughout February, your adoption fee is waived when you donate six cans or more of pet food or 10 or more pounds of bagged, unopened, and unexpired pet food to the pet food pantry. This will help pet parents facing challenges with feeding their animals. View adoptable pets at cobbcounty.org/pets.
Cobb Animal Services is located at 1060 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta.
