Give feedback about Cobb County's study regarding the effectiveness of the county's supplier diversity program. The first virtual public communication session will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9. During these public sessions, community members can go on record with comments about doing business with the county or its marketplace.

The 2024 Cobb County Disparity Study, conducted by Griffin & Strong P.C., will look at the past five years of contracts in construction, goods, and services- including architecture and engineering services- and then recommend modifications or adjustments if needed. The study will also examine the use of Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses.
Mountain View Regional Library will host a Basics Storytime Series for children 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3. Registration is required.
The Basics Storytime Series presented by Cobb Collaborative, are simple interactive workshops. Experience new ways of connecting with your children as you also enjoy music and movement and storytime each week. Intended for ages 3 - 5, with a participating adult caregiver.

Last chance to take in the holiday wonderland
This week is the final opportunity to catch Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland, the amazing light show at Jim R. Miller Park. The drive-through spectacle is open every night 6 - 10 p.m. through Sunday, Jan. 7, rain or shine.
Cobb County Senior Services is gearing up for a season bursting with exciting possibilities. Winter registration opens 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8. Classes are available for residents age 55 and older, with activities ranging from dancing to art.
Get moving this year with Cobb Natural Resources' Trail of the Month Club. Make new friends as you explore local trails and learn about native plants and animals.
The free, all-ages hikes will meet 1 - 3 p.m. Saturdays at these locations on the following dates: Jan. 13 - A streamside stroll along Allatoona Creek at Leone Hall Price Park, 4715 Stilesboro Road, Kennesaw. Feb. 10 - Walk around the pond and through the pines at Lost Mountain Park, 4845 Dallas Highway, Powder Springs. March 9 - Hike the boardwalk over the ephemeral wetlands and Nickajack Creek at Heritage Park, 60 Fontaine Road SW, Mableton.

Take time to learn to save loved ones in an emergency at Family and Friends CPR. This course will teach you lifesaving CPR for adults, children, and babies and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator, also known as an AED. You will also learn basic techniques for helping someone who is choking.
The next class dates are at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, Tuesday, Feb. 6 and Thursday, March 14.
Note: This course does NOT offer an American Heart Association completion card. There is a $10 non-refundable registration fee per person to reserve your seat. The Cobb County Safety Village is located at 1220 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta.
