This Tuesday, Oct. 10, is the deadline for submitting a new voter registration, a change to your name/residential address or to make additional updates prior to the November 2023 General Election. All registrations submitted after the Tuesday deadline will be processed once the election cycle has ended.
It's the moment you've been waiting for! The Fall Book Sale opens its doors 9 a.m. Friday at Cobb Civic Center and runs through the weekend, Oct. 13-15.
You may find treasures among the books, DVDs, books on CD and audiocassettes. And look for hidden gems like comics or vinyl records! Prices range from 10 cents to $4. Hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, then 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday.
Acceptable forms of payment are debit, credit, cash, and checks. On Friday until 1 p.m. electronic devices are not permitted. The event will only sell up to two boxes of items at a time on Friday until 1 p.m. Plan to pay and take items to your vehicle before returning to shop some more. Cobb Civic Center is at 548 South Marietta Pkwy SE, Marietta. Parking is free.

Relax this week with a free concert
The summer concert season winds down at Wine Down Wednesday, the final free concert event, Oct. 11, at the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre. This concert will feature the band High Cotton. All lawn and terrace level seating is first-come, first-served and completely free. Table seating is available for only $15 a seat (must purchase the entire table).

Chalk up a win for the whole family
Experience the fun of Chalktoberfest, a combination of the annual chalk art festival and craft beer festival, in downtown Marietta this weekend, Oct. 14 - 15. Enjoy your afternoon sampling craft beers, live music from local artists, watching professional artists chalk the streets and eating great food at the Marietta Square.
The Chalk Fest is free to attend. Times are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday. All proceeds go to the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art.
Financial assistance available for senior care
Through the Share the Care program, Cobb Senior Services assists county residents financially with dental, hearing and assistive devices. The program is for those residents aged 60 or older and with a household income 200% below the federal poverty level. Limited funds are available.
It's time to celebrate your child's accomplishment in completing the 1000 Books B4 Kindergarten reading program. The event will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the North Cobb Regional Library in Kennesaw. There will be certificates, photo opportunities with Dewey, and plenty of activities. Remember to register beforehand to secure your spot!

CobbLinc riders can now use the new Breeze mobile app and take advantage of its faster and reliable pay-as-you go system. All users will need to download Breeze Mobile 2.0 and create a new account to continue using their phone to pay their fare. Purchase fares directly on your phone, then scan your device on the bus or at the station. No Breeze card is required.
Riders can also make seamless payments across the region with Xpress, MARTA, CobbLinc, and Ride Gwinnett all using the same app. Transfers to and from MARTA are free. Breeze Mobile 2.0 is available for iOS and Android devices.

How to do Business with Cobb County Government and Cobb County Schools will be held 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Senior Wellness Center, 1150 Powder Springs Street, Marietta. Wear your Halloween costume and gather the whole family for the PARKS Fall Festival of Fun. The free, drive-thru-style event will be held 4 - 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Jim R. Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road, Marietta.
As you roll through, you'll engage with princesses, dinosaurs, pirates, superheroes and many more of your favorite characters. You'll also see decorated vehicles in the Fun Auto Zone and more throughout the park. Every child will receive a goodie bag from our candy fairies. No need to bring a bag.
